when we originally opened the mattress it was folded in half and vaccumed but as time went on it fluffed up. we didnt know the true potential once the frame showed up. sinced it arrived we have slept on it just abkut every other night. its soft but not to soft where you sink in and firm but not to where you are sitting on the floor. absolutely worth it!

needed to replace my futon mattress.- looked at many and selected this one and WOW. ok. IT took 2 days to puff up completely- there was no odor at all! It has a softer side and a firmer side. I use it as a bed and the 2 comfort zones really help a chronic pain person!. You won't feel the bars in your futon. Great on its own. I do use a topper also - so pleased the best night sleep in months!!!
