I am extremely satisfied with my ROG Zephyrus M16 (4080). I love the sober and professional design of the chassis, which is ideal for any professional and outdoor setting one can be in. This is hard to find in a gaming machine, yet very desirable. The MiniLED display is absolutely gorgeous to look at, and the 1600p resolution is just right for both gaming and productivity tasks: a higher pixel resolution would have made text unreadable at the native pixel density. After using the laptop for over a month, I can confidently dispel a few myths or concerns spread throughout reviews I consulted before the purchase: 1) the chassis does not attract fingerprints at all 2) in silent mode, the laptop is absolutely silent 3) in balance mode, the laptop is both reasonably cool and quiet for productivity tasks 4) in performance mode with gaming tasks, the laptop is much less louder than online reviews would lead one to believe. For what concerns linux, I use Fedora 38 on a daily basis. Everything works well out of the box, except for the audio which sounds faint (compared to Windows). I think this is one of, if not the, best laptop out there in 2023, even when considering the price.

An incredible machine. The aesthetics are clean, unassuming, and refined. The mini led screen is just beautiful. I don't think I'll ever go back to anything else. Out of the box, the performance is insane, especially at this price point, but I am one of those people who can't leave well enough alone, so I immediately upgraded the memory with Crucial 5200 32x2 (64GB) memory and two Crucial P5 2TB NVMe sticks in a Raid-0 configuration. Be prepared to have a Windows 11 USB stick with Intel RST drivers and Wifi drivers to load manually if you intend to replace the NVMe because Microsoft has still not slip streamed them into the newest install image at the time of this review.
