Offbeats play original songs with rock, ska, reggae, funk and blues influences. Beginning in 1987, Offbeats have continued to produce thought-provoking tunes with infectious grooves and tight arrangements, playing around the San Francisco Bay Area for two decades. Offbeats three founding members are all songwriters and provide distinctive lyrical content to complement the dance-friendly music which features Jay Kadis on guitar and vocals, Doug McLean on keyboards and vocals, Tim Boomer on bass and vocals with drummer Judith Masanetz . The CD Offbeats was recorded using both analog and digital tape and was produced by the band with graphics by famed Fillmore poster artist David Singer.
