A backbone that has exceptional flex

I use my Intercoastal 7' UG for sea trout, Snapper, and other smaller fish, but don't let that fool you...its strong enough to handle slot-sized Reds and most black drum I hook into. The price is right, and it has enough backbone to get a good hook set, and plenty of strength for the fight. Pair this rod with a medium spinning reel, 10-15lb line...and let the fun begin!

Ugly Stick

I've used all of the top end YUPPIE rods and they are great but the ugly stick has a more sensitive tip and more backbone than any of them. After 4 of us did a 200-mile canoe trip fishing for salmon in Alaska and each of us having 1 or 2 backup rods only 1 high end rod and 2 ugly sticks made the trip unscathed.

Great Intercoastal Rod for the Price!

It's the perfect inshore rod made for light tackle. Sensitivity matched with strength. Easily paired with 2000 - 4000 size reels with 8 - 12lb mono. Cork handle is a nice addition as it adds grip in wet conditions.
