although assembling is a minor inconvenience I am pleased so far with the appearance. During assembly I anticipated possible future tape/screw failure and applied a small bead of super glue to the door frame and both parts of the cat door. It is currently placed on a door in my basement to give my two cats access to their litter boxes and to keep my 6 month old pug puppy away from their litter pans. (He has a disgusting and annoying habbit) The dimensions are perfect for my stated purpose of allowing my cats in and keeping the puppy out as he is too large to fit through now and even looks nice. I am thinking about adding another door to allow more access and also to another area for feeding and found the enclosed cutting emplate extremely helpful in getting a headstart on the other door(s). I am happy with the performance and the look and would definitely recommend it to other people with similar dilemmas but would also advise them to ensure they have the requisite hand and power tools and to carefully measure their cat before purchasing. If the assembly was a little more streamlined and required less time i would have awarded 5 stars.

This is my second Pet Safe 4-Way Locking cat door. Installation was easy because I knew it would fit the hole in my door. The reason I give it only 3 of 5 stars is because of the sliding lock. Its plastic, like the door, but the positions for each type of lock aren't stable. I have chosen to keep it in one position so there isn't the flexibility I want but it works fine this way.
