Love it! Have a double I insulated tote I've been using for compost that I have to stir to mix. So much easier just turning the barrel.

Happy Gardener

My wife wanted a composter, and after a reasonable amount of research on the pros & cons of various models & designs, I chose this one. This was about the size we needed and so far we are very pleased, It checks the boxes we determined were most important to us. The majority of rotating 7+/- cu ft. bins I reviewed were on a stand, which arguably makes it easier to load, but is not as stable as this one. There are several models offered by Good Ideas, and I found little difference between this one & the Wizard, Jr. The units are offered by dozens of retailers & Garden Centers, but Sam's had the best price by far.

Simple and good

This tumbler is very well designed and really gets results quickly. My wife and I live in Southern California so the temperature stays just right for composting. We took a risk adding coco fiber to the mix and planting it in the ground early (about 1.5-2 weeks) to see if it would keep composting and it did. Not that it would have been much longer for a nice batch to come out. The design is top notch and we've already used the compost tea function. One note however, if you use the compost tea, you may have to add water to dilute some of the larger particles as the flow may otherwise be low. This also gives you a higher yield which the plants LOVE. Only use rain water though; city junk will wilt your plants. The last thing I want to point out is the handle design. Absolutely needed and not seen on most composters. The top slatted (?) handles not only make it easy to turn, but there's no problem when you want to pull the drum off the base. I can't tell you how many times we've used this feature. We could lose the base forever and we'd still be satisfied. Well done Good Ideas.
