Nordic Ware Naturals Classic Metal Covered Baking Pan with Aluminum Construction

I've wanted to get one of these pans for years. They finally went on sale, at a price I could afford, so I jumped on that. I was so tired of buying lesser quality baking pans to get me by, only to have them rust or get all scratched up by family members who didn't understand that their non-stick coating would be damaged by metal utensils. This aluminum number from Nordic Ware Naturals should last for a good long time. My father in law has had his for at least 30 years now and it's still going strong. It's the perfect size for cakes, big batches of brownies, lasagne and such. The lid makes storing your baked goods so easy. I'm going to feel so much better about using it instead of plastic wrap or foil. The lids also doubles as a cookie sheet. While not non-sticks, this can easily be used with your non-stick product of choice. I tried it out with some parchment paper when I baked a chocolate cake and it worked so well. The cake came out perfectly baked and the lid helped keep it fresh for the few days it took us to eat it. The only downside I can think of is that this pan will lose it's lovely, shiny look if you put it in the dishwasher because the aluminum interacts with the detergent, water and high temps and that causes discoloration. It will still be safe to use. It just won't look as pretty. I plan on hand washing mine until the day comes when someone in the family inevitably forgets and puts it in the dishwasher. I'm also planning to keep an eye on the Walmart website because as soon as this baby goes on sale again, I'm going to treat myself to a second one!
