We installed this over our patio and it works great. Make sure that you follow directions clearly and completely. It stands the wind in our area, which is fabulous. And the color matches the house perfectly. And the color matches the house perfectly.

I'm very happy with my new umbrella. Before I found it, I was considering installing some fixed shade sails, but this is so much better, and super easy to open when I want the shade on my patio, and close when I don't. I must say the instructions could have been clearer at the step where the fabric is affixed to the rolling mechanism. The illustrations are too small to clearly depict which direction it gets wound after the fabric is attached, and this affects the next few steps in the process. So If you get it wrong like I did, you'll have to backtrack and re-do several steps to get it right, and this is not easy with a 12 foot long assembly such as this. So better detail illustrations would help others to avoid this. Still, even with that said, I am very happy with the finished product, as it represents really good value, and I would buy again. But to make it easier on yourself, study the illustrations carefully as you proceed.
