I bought this cabinet not to store CDs, but to store Lego bricks. When it first arrived, I was dismayed that the drawers didn't pull out completely, because I like to be able to remove the drawers when building with the Legos. However, I discovered that the wooden dowel that holds in the drawers can be removed if I twist it out. It's in there tight enough that it WILL hold the drawer in if you don't want the drawers to be removable, but loose enough that you can get it out if you need to. So far, the cabinet has suited my needs perfectly. It's exactly the right size and has enough compartments for me to be able to sort and store my Lego bricks well, and in style, too, as it matches the other cherry furniture in my family room.
