I bought these Christmas advent boxes to use to make my own candy advent calendars. I expected them to be of the small size that would hold a very small bag of candy or a couple of some nice assorted quality chocolates. The boxes are huge. If you are planning to build your own advent calendar, you will need to buy a huge amount of candy. In the past, I have purchased small boxes that were too small to put a single candy or small item inside. Now I have landed in the opposite direction. These boxes would be great for lots of other uses such as cosmetics, different cookie-brownie assortments, gift certificates, small jams/teas, coffees, costume jewelry, certificates, ornaments, lottery tickets. You might also want to set them up empty along your mantle with nothing inside. If you make your own candies and sweets, these boxes are sturdy and fold together easily. I am still planning to use my boxes for candy and wrapping each item so every thing looks nice upon opening. Have fun.
