Very Good purchase
This is just what the doctor ordered. It works great, and we are very pleased with it thus far. It fit perfect in the top draw of the nightstand for easy access. It was easy to program, and now I'll be getting one for my wife as well.

Best safe for a family.
The safe is awesome and it was super super easy to set up the finger print reader. Set up 8 fingers for two people in less than 2 minutes. Walmart's price was also the lowest around and with free shipping.

Broken - can't turn off beep when unlocks
I received the safe and the fingerprint module was not working when trying to program new fingerprints. It would accept any fingerprint as factory default, but the button to initialize a new fingerprint would not activate the fingerprint scanner. Called Barska and they said it is defective. The safe is quite large to fit in a nightstand and top-open. It beeps when you press the button on the outside to start a finger scan, which can be turned off. However, there is also a beep when the lock opens that you cannot turn off. The manual describes this very clearly. I returned this to get a Sentry Quick Access Pistol Safe from Costco and love it more than this. The sentry has code and fingerprint access, no beeps and auto-spring-opens. The Barska safe is larger, though, but I can fit a box of ammo, 357 magnum and ready speed loader in the Sentry no problem.
