I've got five of these that I use only for planters and I love them to bits. They're big, so they fit on our tree stumps and I can load them with flowers in the spring. I leave them out all winter, too, and after many years they're still holding up. Eastern Oregon is noted for loooong cold winters. I just drilled out several holes in the bottom of each planter, put some window screening down to keep soil in and insects out, and they're perfect. The only drawback I can think of is that if they're full of damp soil, they're VERY heavy so put them where you want them because they're there to stay. I forgot to mention that they LOOK great, too! Yep, I'm happy...
