The headboard arrived chipped, which was disappointing. It's also not as long as it appears in the photos. While the bed doesn't require a box spring, I think it would look better with a thicker mattress to help hide the space between the headboard and the frame. On the positive side, I really like the clearance between the bed and the floor—my robot vacuum fits perfectly underneath, which is a big plus. The bed itself feels sturdy and was easy to assemble
