Loved it!

It was not thin ply wood. It was a lot thicker and sturdier than I thought! I would definitely recommend!!

Incomplete Craftsmanship

I will begin with the positive. The wood is a sturdy grade that feels durable and capable of withstanding an adult's weight, and the coating is rich and smooth. Its texture has a nice glide that will most likely help prevent splinters. These qualities are the only reason I'm willing to give this product two stars, as some more expensive items from other popular brands would surely be of a lesser quality or MDF board or both. These positives, however, are rendered moot by the fact my step stool's sides were incomplete prior to shipping. Included with this review are pictures of the sides. Each should have four holes pre-drilled; two at the top, two in the middle. These points are where the steps should be attached and secured with screws. To my great inconvenience, one of the sides only has three pre-drilled holes. In fact, I can see a pencil marking in the shape of a circle where the hole should be, it just isn't there. Perhaps Consdan's quality assurance thought all four holes were properly drilled on this panel, as the outside of the panel looks as though the hole exists. When the panel is flipped over, it is clear the hole did not drill through and another hole is only partially drilled--imagine a half moon hole where a full moon should be. I am disappointed, because it is clear this company has access to great wood and has the ability to produce a high quality product, they just failed with my item. Now, I will have to take the panel to a professional to have the hole drilled to a uniform diameter and the partial hole widened. I don't want to risk doing this myself, as my woodwork skillset could make a bad situation worse.
