This Kenko Circular Polarizer is an Optical Glass Filter designed for Digital Cameras. Do not compromise the optics of your lens by using low-quality filters. Circular PL filters allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. Kenko's CIRCULAR PL filter does not affect the overall color balance of a shot. All polarizers are not created equal and poor quality glass, low-quality polarizing films, and bed frames can affect sharpness, resolution, contrast, and color. Polarizing glass is made by sandwiching the "polarizing film" between 2 pieces of glass and then using special adhesives and manufacturing processes to make them into a single unit. If anything gets messed up during this process then you end up with a filter that will ruin a great image.
