Was easily put together. The safty hinges kept little fingers from being crushed. No locking mechanism which I wouldn't allow anyway. Kids don't need it it's not safty. Lid stays open while kid is looking. I need to hold it. Lots of space my little uses it for all her many many stuffies. And baby dolls plus accessories she is 6 if that helps anyone. Average size. Lots of toys. Many dolls. I wouldn't throw tiny toys in as they get lots in bottom and would be hard for the dig out but that's more of a me thing as a parent. But she loved having all her plushies and babies one spot looked very nice in her room even added a sticker to front with her name. And tiny pillow on top for decor.

Well, it is a lot bigger than I was thinking. i would definitely recommend one of these. I'm using mine for towels in the bathroom. it was pretty simple to put together, you do have to pay attention when you put the sides on, but it took me less than an hour by myself, they have each bag individually marked with a letter, so it makes it super easy not to mix up your pieces. I used my drill with a phillips head screwdriver, but they give you a little screwdriver, too. it would definitely hold a lot of toys. it is made with particle boards so it's not something you're going to be passing down through the family or anything. But it's perfect for a kid's room or just a little extra storage anywhere. i think it should be a little bit cheaper. But overall I like it.
