Don't let the thickness fool you. it's very thin out of the package, definitely not "plush" but very comfy to bare feet. I did not use a cushion underneath. The color were muted and that's OK, but it was more like color blobs rather than a blended color rug. Part of the rug was blue, part green, part tan, but just no continuity of color. It was also really shiny. On the plus side, it was as soft as I had wanted in this rug. I thought the rug looked cheap and so did my friends and family. I returned it.
