Just What I Was Looking For!

I have been looking for a new copy of the Boy Scout's handbook for a long time. I found one here and got it ordered. It was an easy process to order and the goods arrived quickly and in good shape. I enjoy shopping with What On Earth since they always have something I am either looking for or something I haven't seen before. Will definitely be shopping with them in the future.

For what it is its great...

Ok I was so excited to get this book!! and I am very happy to have it. How ever if you are looking for snares or any kind of hunting help there isn't much in it. No snares that I saw in it and it does have a first aid section all though I think maybe you should get something a little more current . That being said it does talk of using canvas to make tents and shows many designs and styles you can use to keep warm and dry. It does have a lot of the basics meal planning if on an out door adventure. Camp site things. Wood knowledge. etc. BUT you have to remember they say 2 pounds of bacon to take with you. Back in the early 1900's bacon was usually smoked or salted and dried and wouldn't go bad right of way so when reading for now a day advice remember the time and place you are reading about. I noted some of the items they say to soak a tent in for water proofing may not apply today. Such as soaking canvas in turpentine and paraphine not such a good idea because of the flammable properties problem there. But remember the ideas are basic and were written about when modern technology didn't exist .
