Extra Long Lip
We manufacture our caps with an extended 3/4" lip to provide extra protection and better mounting. The 3/4" lip allows the mounting screw to drill lower on the post making the cap much more secure. The extended lip also allows the cap to slip over your post farther, which better protects the vulnerable end grain of your post.
High Point Pyramid
We noticed over our 15 years making caps that many pyramid caps on the market have a short 'stubby' pyramid. We recognize that having a shorter pyramid would save on material costs, but having the taller pyramid makes for a much better looking cap.
Fits Nominal/Standard 4x4 Post
These are designed to slip over and fit a 4x4 post that actually measures 3-1/2" x 3-1/2". The internal measurement for this cap is 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" which allows for some post swelling while still fitting snug. We have over 40 sizes of caps, so if you have a post that does not measure 3-1/2", make sure to visit our store to pick out the perfect cap!
