I have been looking for a new nail trimmer for a long while. All the new ones seem to be made of plastic. I finally found a solid metal trimmer to replace the one I have had for 20 years. Hooray!

Quality lacking

I have had a JW Pet guilllotine nail trimmer for 10+ years and it is still going strong, but the blade has chipped a little. A replacement trimmer purchased recently is far, far worse in quality than the 'original' - the blade moves sideways in the guide channel by about 1-2mm, so the blade cannot cut firmly and cleanly and instead shears or tears the nail. Secondly, when closed tightly the handles do not spring open again as they should! The design concept is fine - and it doesn't pinch the user's hand like other dog clippers can. Where is the manufacturing quality control in this product?? Badly made and no longer fit for purpose.
