Atlantic Furniture Columbia Twin over Twin Bunk Bed

We needed efficient but *safe and sturdy* sleeping for 5 grandkids in a small bedroom in our vacation home. We purchased 2 sets, one with drawers and one with the trundle. We looked at plenty of other less costly options, but the smooth wood, solid construction and well-drilled holes were obviously at a higher level. There was not one missing screw or wood piece. It's hard to tell from photos, but the edges of all the trim pieces are slightly rounded and smooth, so when kids do bump into an edge, it's much less likely to harm them. There is good head space between the upper and lower beds, and despite the sturdiness, they are not overly massive - an important feature since we needed two sets. The ladder is compact and we chose it purposely so it doesn't impact the floor space. The straight vertical climb is not easy for some kids to do, but the configuration was worth that slight down side to us. Bunk beds can be a tricky purchase because safety is so important. I recommend these highly, although they do cost more than many other options. We purchased the natural finish and it's great.
