I was not familiar with the wood from rubber trees, but it has a nice grain and is hard. I takes stain well. Overall I am well pleased with the chairs. I have not started to assemble them yet, but it doesn't look hard.

I'd buy the chairs again. Good wood quality,

The only difficulty was lining up the seat to attach it on the chair. Guides would have helped. I turned the chair over and drew lines on the underside and that helped.
