Great Mounting Product

I've used other product to mount things indoors before and they always stop working. I've used this for a memo board in the kitchen and it's brilliant! Holds so very strong

Heavy Duty Foam Mounting Tape

I use this product for scrap booking and also gift card making. It is a very reliable product and does not let you down by becoming unstuck when using it to layer items on either scrapbook layouts or layering items onto fronts of cards.

Springy now but for how long

I'm interested in this mounting tape's spring quality, that is, its ability to return to its original thickness after being compressed. Specifically, I am building a Normally Open low-voltage switch that doesn't click. The design is 2 rigid brass 1/8" wide strips separated by single squares of this tape at each end. The bottom strip is indented in the center so that the tape only needs to be compressed to half of its original 1.9mm thickness. My question is How well will the tape retain its ability to return to its original thickness? Only the edges will be exposed to air.
