While looking into this and comparing this to heater treater, you really do not need a complete metal door, The culprite is that the stop pin on the adapter between the motor and the door is plastic, this pin breaks and the motor over torques stripping the adapter in the door. This replacement has an aluminum adapter eliminating the chances of breaking the stop pin. While you have your dash apart, it would be wise to replace all of these adapters. No sure if this site offers this option but I am sure other sites do. It is much cheaper than paying 60+ bucks for the adapter and the door.
