Buyer Beware!

Ironically, these fans don't work in RV's. I bought 2 of these and installed them in my motor home. I tested them when I finished and they worked great. Fast forward to our next trip and both fans failed on day one. After doing some research and talking to customer service at Maxxfan, turns out the circuit board in these fans frys at about 13.7 volts. The motorhome's alternator charges the batteries going down the road at about 14.2, and the solar panels on the roof also charge at a rate much higher than 12.4 volts into the house batteries. The tech at Maxxfan said he would try and get authorization to send me 2 new circuit boards ( I'm still waiting to hear back). I was also told that in order to get the fans to work in an RV, you would have to install a voltage regulator for each fan in order to keep the input voltage to the fan at a constant 12.4 to 12.8 volts. So, all in all my situation is pretty funny if you think about it. I bought 2 fans for my rv that won't actually work in an RV that has any voltage fluctuations, an I have never been in an RV that ran a constant 12.4 voltage. So I'm hoping for the circuit boards, of course, in the meantime I have ordered 2 voltage regulators that I'll install hoping to make these things work, because it's a pain to take the roof apart again. Save yourself the trouble and spend the extra $100 for the Fantastic Fan in the first place, trust me, you will be happy you did! I can't believe I'm this old and keep making these kind of mistakes.
