The lamp took no more than 10-15 minutes to assemble ( has directions). I would suggest that you assemble it close to where you are going to put it because the base is a little heavy and because of the height. Love that it has a remote control with different light settings. Can position the lamp head in 360 degree angles. Can be attached to the pole because of the magnetic field from the pole. Bought it for my mom and she loves it.

The remote control makes using this lamp so easy. There are settings using it with a computer and with books as well as brightness. I just love everything about it. I was able to adjust the height for my chair and it meets my every need. Just realize that the arm takes a lot of room because there is a weight at the end to keep it balanced.
