Well made but design is odd

Cute sandies and well made however the strap that comes Across the top of the foot at an angle forces, my foot to pivot to the right or left, depending on the right or left foot. It's hard to explain, but that's what happens. No matter how I adjust the tightness of the straps it still happens. Too bad because I really like them.
