Fox Racing is known for competition-winning performance and the Fox Float 34 was designed to take on the best XC challengers. Fox redesigned the 2016 Float 34, making it lighter, stiffer, and better than previous generations. The Float 34 has seen improved designs in the lowers, crown and stanchions, all of which contribute to the weight savings, however the redesigned Float air spring design is the biggest contribution, removing 130 grams over the previous generation. The new Float spring design offered other benefits as well, by improving performance and reducing maintenance overall with one less seal in the mix.
The biggest improvement to the Float 34 in 2016 was the introduction of the Fit4 damper. The Fit4 does away with the CTD design of previous generations and introduces compression adjustment with greater sensitivity and control. This damper design allows for Open, Medium, and Firm compression, with adjustability through the range. The improved rebound system has increased flow and faster recovery, making the fork more resposive and plush. The Fit4 damper offers simplified maintenance and adjustment over the CTD design while simultaneously reducing weight. The 2016 version of the Fit4 damper maintains the benefits of its previous generation, but incorporates greater sensitivity overall.
