3M Speedglas Welding Helmet 9100 06-0100-30HHSW, with Hard Hat, SideWindows and 3M Speedglas Auto-Darkening Filter 9100XX, Shades 5, 8-13

Can't believe there aren't more reviews on this hood... So I'm adding mine I've had this hood for about 4 years and love it! The only reason it isn't 5 stars is that I needed to do a warranty claim to have the ADF replaced about 2 years ago. The warranty process wasn't hard and it didn't take more than a few days to get my replacement. The ADF has worked great since then. I use my hood almost daily for GTAW structural stainless steel as well as both stainless and carbon pipe. Occasionally used GMAW for structural carbon and stainless steel as well. The hood works well in every situation I've used it in. The clarity of vision from this ADF is worth the cost if you are serious about your welding. I came from the Miller Digital Elite and have never once thought that going back was an option. The only criticism I have is that I would like there to be more sensors on the ADF. It's VERY rare but I have been flashed when welding in very tight spots. It's not really a design flaw of 9100xxi but more of an issue with all ADFs that welders just need to understand. An extra sensor would help though. I really like having the peripheral fixed shades to see what's going on around me when I'm welding. I feel It helps me stay balanced when going around pipe. And the venting in the front of the hood was a stroke of genius. Seriously, whomever came up with that design idea deserves a raise!

I have had this helmet less then 6 months and started to get flashed for a few days in a row and then the screen just went black. Sent it in for repair and they sent it back saying no problems detected. After using it for a hour I get flashed and notice that there is a crack in it. I do not recommend this lens. Everything else about the helmet is great besides the lens. I don't know what they do to test the lens but I don't think they ate testing it for a long period of time.
