The heat shield can also help keep hot engine components away from your leg, keeping your expensive boots / pants from melting on hot exhaust.The exterior facing surface is finished with a high-strength clear coat that lets the carbon fiber weave show through, and on the backside of the guard a special heat-resistant coating ensures the guard itself won’t get too hot.
