I began losing my hearing after 1991. I have spent a fair sum of money on hearing aids. From top shelf, pre-set non-adjusting devices from Sears to this particular pair from Walmart. There are 2 types, a device that is medically prescribed and all OTC brands. In that regard I firmly believe that this pair has served me well and will continue due to one important consideration, I had no idea how much of my hearing I had lost until I received this unit. Left ear is 'profound' and the right ear is at a midway point. Since I purchased these, at a price that I was wow'd by, about $90.00 , I've been able to hear television, the internet, folks behind me talking, even inside Walmart I'm able to absorb conversation with everyone else and don't have to keep saying, "excuse me, what did you say?" Now, let's be fair, these are not the $8,000.00 hearing aid kits, but price does not always tell the true tale. I believe these will last more than a good year, I believe that and as such, at about $90.00 and 2 years of service, I think I have a fair trade. I'd encourage anyone to at least talk to Walmart about your hearing concerns and go from there. I even had a situation where I did not have any information on where to purchase ear domes for replacement. Ear Domes are an ultra soft material that fits over the device, protecting your ears from injury or from a poor fitting, securing your ability to hear at all levels. HIBRIQ does not produce those but in 9 hours, they had me in contact with a company that did and now, no worries about that maintenance detail. This is an economical, safe start to a 2nd lease on your hearing life.
