From the Hood to the World: The Terrence Ammons Story
For the release of my new book, From the Hood to the World-this is my truth.
I'm the young man who grew up in the trenches, on the unforgiving streets of King Blvd-surrounded by drugs, broken dreams, prostitutes, and crackheads. I'm that guy who used to cruise in my Z24 Cavalier on wide McLean rims, hitting switches, music rattling the block, just trying to find joy in a world that told me I wasn't built for more.
I'm that guy who started working in a nursing home at 14, mopping floors, taking out trash-no shame in my grind because I made it do what it do. I turned nothing into everything.
They said I'd never be sh*t.
They said I'd never leave the hood.
They laughed when I dreamed bigger than my zip code.
But now? I'm proof.
The same one who went from back alleys to Beijing, China, standing on the Great Wall like I owned it.
The same one who strolled through London and Paris, realizing the world was mine to claim.
The same one who touched luxury in Dubai, stood where pharaohs ruled in Egypt, and felt the rhythm of Rio's favelas.
From the beaches of Sydney, Australia to the holy chaos of India, from the art of Italy to the icy grace of Canada-I rewrote my destiny.
Budapest. Slovakia. Vienna, Austria.
Every stamp in my passport, every skyline under my feet-I fought for this.
This ain't luck.
This is a revolution.
I was ignored.
I was written off.
But now?
I'm global.
From the hood to the world.
And the journey's just getting started.
