This is a beautifully made Dutch oven. The finish is flawless and a beautiful color. I got it on a sale so I'm super excited about the price. I used it last night to make beef stew and it was the best stew I've ever made. Tasted incredible after cooking in the oven for 3 hours at 300. This pot has some WEIGHT to it! It's kind of heavy to lift with one hand while cleaning, but that's my fault for getting such a large one! It was super easy to clean after use also. Didn't need any heavy scrubbing to come perfectly clean. I absolutely love this pot! I will be using it a LOT in the future!

I chose this Dutch oven for bread baking since it has a heatproof knob on the lid. It is so beautiful, and it has performed perfectly for bread baking. There are no plastic parts on it, so I can crank the oven heat up. It is thick, sturdy, cast iron, and, frankly, heavy. This is what you want and expect in a cast-iron Dutch oven, but be aware that it is heavy if lifting is an issue. It's a feature, not a bug, but it is a physical reality that it's a load to be moving in and out of a hot oven. I have also used it to make soup and stew on the stovetop, and it performs very well for that application. It holds the heat, and things won't scorch if you adjust the burner heat correctly. I'm very pleased with this purchase because this Dutch oven does exactly what I want it to do, and it's also very beautiful.
