Ok I LOVE this! This planter is stunning! It was easy ssemble and it's very sturdy. The plastic planter box is well made and feels strong and hard. The trellis part is definitely strong enough to hold heavy vining plants. It arrived within two days so shipping was extremely fast. I got this so I can have my passion fruit vine crawl up on it. My photo of it outside isn't loading due to the photo size but all I can say is I highly recommend it, buy it!

I got this 3 piece planter box set with trellises because I wanted to grow cucumbers and pole beans on my small patio but I don't have the space or skill to build my own raised beds. The idea of having the trellis attached to the planter itself seemed like a smart solution for a clumsy gardener like me. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is that everything comes flat. Each planter is made of several plastic panels that snap together. The trellises are separate pieces that attach to the back of each planter. I laid everything out on my living room floor and it looked like a giant puzzle. Assembly took me about an hour for all three. The panels snap together with a interlocking edge system. No tools required which was good because I don't own anything more complicated than a screwdriver. Some of the connections needed a firm smack with my palm to click into place. My hands were a little sore afterward but nothing broke. Once assembled, each planter is about 12 inches deep and maybe 24 inches wide. The trellis rises up about 24 inches above the planter. The plastic feels thick and sturdy, not flimsy like a storage bin. The color is a dark grey that blends in fine on my patio. I filled them with potting mix and planted cucumbers in two and pole beans in the third. The trellis worked exactly as hoped. The cucumber vines grabbed onto the plastic slats within two weeks and started climbing on their own. I didn't have to tie anything up or rig a separate support system. The drainage holes in the bottom of each planter are adequate. I drilled a couple extra holes because I tend to overwater, but the default holes would have been fine for most people. The planters come with little plugs to cover the holes if you want to use them indoors, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. My only complaint is that the planters feel a little shallow for deep rooted plants like tomatoes. Cucumbers and beans were fine but I wouldn't try carrots or potatoes in these. Also the trellis plastic is a bit flexible. In a strong wind, the whole thing wobbles. I put a brick in the bottom of each planter for weight. I'm hoping the plastic doesn't become brittle in the sun. They've been outside for a month in full afternoon sun and no cracks yet. Good for small space vegetable gardening or anyone who wants a neat, contained setup for climbing plants.
