We went from a strider bike to this bike, hoping that he would not need the training wheels. The bike is simply too heavy to skip the training wheels. Get something else-too much potential for problems
Go with something else. There's too many little issues that rack up. Assembly isn't difficult but is tedious/time-consuming. Each part I assembled, I continued to get concerned that there would be problems. I got the bike completely assembled and didn't like what I saw.. and the rear-wheel inter-turn had a hole in it. Potential for frame being bent, wheels being bent (like mine), wheels being wobbly (like mine), tires having a hole, inter-tubes not being able to hold in the air (like mine), handbrakes are goofy, etc. The bike looks good, and seems like it should be good but with the issues I mentioned, I will be returning. Just go with something else. Maybe something that is already assembled and ready to go.
