Not cheaply made, but definitely inexpensively made. They could charge a little less for this item in my opinion considering it's basically thick cardboard with a pretty picture on the front and a clock mechanism in the middle. But again, it is lovely and works just fine. I mean it's not like it has to sing and dance for me. Lol!
