Hits the sweet spot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife had been using my old MS Surface Pro 3 for a while now, but it was on its last leg and she wanted something reliable of her own. I started looking for traditional clamshells because the floppiness of the Surface annoyed her sometimes, but she liked the tent/tablet mode and pen input for documents. The Thinkpad X1 Yoga hits that middle ground so well. Other than the weird hinges, you'd never notice it wasn't a "normal" Thinkpad, and the fact that the CPU isn't behind the screen means it doesn't have the same heat issues as the Surface line. Performance is stellar, the secret stylus garage is super useful, and the form factor is just really well-executed. So far, she loves it.

Not cheap, but well worth it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using a 1st Generation X1-Yoga computer, I decided to upgrade to the Gen 7. The old one was still working very well, was totally reliable and a pleasure to use, and so far the new one seems to be even better in construction and design. - The screen is gorgeous and actually fills the lid space. - The new camera works great, and Windows Hello face login is fast. - Speed test of actual tasks I do (encoding audio files) beat my 1 year old high end desktop - so this new processor really works great! - Keyboard feels great, better than the old one, quiet and solid feeling. - Sound is greatly improved, and the quad microphones are excellent sounding for video chat - and they work amazingly well with my piano tuning software! No more having to move the computer around to different locations to get clear measurements! - I travel a lot, and although the X1-Yoga design is heavy as a tablet at 3 pounds, having the option to flip it over and watch movies or read books on the plane is excellent - and the movies look great and sound excellent in the headphones. If this computer proves to be as rugged and reliable as my previous ThinkPads, I will

EXCELLENT PRODUCT. More than I need but that's OK

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High performance computer. Solid construction. Bright display. Great keyboard. The performance can be set at three levels.... best for battery, balanced, or best for performance. The "best for performance" setting does generate more heat (as would be expected) so I've been using the balanced setting. Performance at this level is still more than necessary for the work I'm doing. Adequate ports for travel. I use a LENOVO dock for desktop use... takes little space and expands the ports nicely. Light weight, easy to carry in small briefcase. Very happy with this product.
