This is so much better than a typical electric fireplace! The flames look real and are safe for kids and pets. You have to run the water through a few cycles before the flames reach their full height and strength, so don't assume it's not going to work properly when you first set it up. Very happy with purchase

So far the fireplace works very well and produces realistic flames that can be adjusted in height and color. My wife actually likes the built in crackling sounds. The unit appears to be very well made, was nicely packaged and no assembly was required. The unit puts off very little heat (just the LEDs), but that was as advertised and what we wanted. We looked at other water vapor based brands and this was by far the best value for the price. Also, communication with the seller has been very good. They reached out to me to see if everything was working and if we liked it. If you are considering purchasing a water vapor based unit like this I highly recommend plumbing reverse osmosis water to it like we did because tap water would likely reduce its lifespan, but you can fill it manually with distilled water as well.
