Perfect solution

Perfect solution for my 18 foot runabout! We boat mostly in reservoirs, so the depth can very greatly and of course, we need to know the water temp and air temp. Installation was a snap, although the installation manual assumes you're an experienced mechanic and is a little unclear with some of the directions.

Does what it should but read this!

The depth finder & temperature works as designed. The engineering lacks a little. The transducer mount only has three angles to choose from and are not adjustable once you adhere it w/o redoing the adhesive. The cap that goes over the cable (transom mounted) has no arch/bevel precut to accomodate diameter of transducer cable. Mainly, it suggest a 3/4" hole which is way unnecessary to drill a hole this large to accommodate the transducer cable. I ran both transducer cable & pitot hose for speedometer & still hole was way to large- just drill hole just large enough for transducer tip (guage side) and you can still feed both simultaneously.

Not a good product...

This is the second attempt to get favorable results from this depth finder. The first was through the hull, but the results were inconsistent. It would occasionally read, but most of the time it showed - - -, with no depth displayed. I assumed that application was not the best potential. I return the original and opted for the transom mount, with temp. No better. At any speed beyond 1500 RPM, no read. It did work better at low speed, but I occasionally find myself going faster than idle. I can only assume the old "get what you paid for" is haunting me again...
