Beautiful boots and did fit my wife calves however I had to really work one boot to zip up fully. I noticed these boots don't have the small elastic near the top calf like a lot of boots do so it's not as forgiving. I got the burgundy and they are gorgeous and on trend. Heel is low enough not to cause any discomfort and I wore these for 5 hours straight out of the box.
