I only use the Ball lids -the REAL thing. Cheaper lids fail to seal. I was surprised that the in-store price was quite a bit higher than the online price. It was cheaper to order online and pick up at the store. (Done while I was standing in the store)

Unless Ball's quality has changed for the worse in recent years, I have always had good luck with Ball canning lids (and Kerr too for that matter). That has not been the case with "bargain lids". The difference in quality is obvious when you open the box, and it's no mystery why there can be issues with sealing. When I saw Walmart had reduced the price of their Ball lids, I stocked up so I can can with confidence.
