Wow! I thought it would be a carpet type material but it's VERY soft and a thin rug. I don't mind thin rugs because I didn't want a plush one and I use it for under my bed. If you have a strong vacuum, you WILL have to hold your rug down, you just need a light suction on this rug. Other than that, it's pretty, no smell, soft and I would recommend it to people. For the price, I think it's very good.
