Ornate but not very functional
This Zeckos Door Knocker in particular is a nice decorative piece. It's a decoration, that of a star but in my opinion, that is it. It is metal, not cheaply made, it's just not very big to be functional. This one, when you strike the ring against the base, the tip of your fingers hit the base before the knocking ring does and you get more of a tick tick sound. It's nothing like you see in the movies or on TV. Being in the house, and someone knocks with it, you probably won't hear anything unless you're close to the door. I have a Gargoyle on the wall in my living room, I'm going to mount this under that. I would only recommend as a decoration.
