This very high quality lamp looks like it should cost a lot more than it did. I love everything about this lamp. The finishes are beautiful, the lamp shade is sturdy and looks expensive. The only possible improvement is it could use a longer cord. (Easy to fix with an extension cord.) I would give this lamp a 10/10 rating.

Great choice.

Before I ordered this particular lamp I think I looked at every glass and gold/brass lamp on Walmart, Amazon and Target. Pottery Barn has some of the best buyers for furnishings around. It's like every lamp on their site is studied and evaluated for style and aesthetics, not to mention quality. And, I was going to head over there until I realized I didn't want to spend $300. or $400. on a lamp. This comparatively small lamp, (18 inches) from Walmart could easily pass for such a lamp. Someone commented here about the color of the lampshade. It's not stark white, it's a pleasant ecru and when lite with a daylight 35 watt bulb, also from Walmart's Better Homes %26 Gardens, it looks very nice on a cabinet in my entrance hall. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.
