The box was heavy, and I hesitated to assemble it because I thought it would be complicated. My two children helped me put the base together; it was fun at first, but I didn't stop until it was finished. My son was amazed by how it looked and said it resembled a hotel room (because of the trips we've taken). I thought the base's lift mechanisms wouldn't work because they were so stiff, but when I put them on the base, they worked perfectly when I lifted it. I'm so surprised at how beautiful, useful, and practical it looks! 💯

I was very surprised and impressed with the quality of this bed. It is very sturdy and nice looking. Feels like it would hold up to kid abuse. Lots of room to store stuff underneath. It took about four hours to put together one bed and that was with two of us. Instructions are pretty good except in a few places. Make sure to read the part about the hydraulics closely and completely. Extra hardware is provided. Two Allen wrenches are provided but they are very hard on your fingers to use them. We put together two beds. For the first one we used what they provided and for the second one we borrowed an impact driver and drill with Allen wrench attachments which was so much easier and faster. Item is very heavy but well packaged. It will take two or three very strong people to get it into your house. If you have to go up any stairs good luck!
