These are great hanging ceiling fans for an outside sitting area: gazebo, pavilion, deck, etc.. My family put up a metal gazebo for lounging and we knew we wanted a weatherproof ceiling fan for the hot summer days. Initially we were unsure if this ceiling fan with a 20” circumference would be enough for the 12' x 18' space, so we initially just bought one to see how it'd do. Wow, this fan delivered! So well, in fact, we ended up getting another one to match! It comes with the option to have it mounted closer to the ceiling (with a near-9” short arm) or with a near-13” longer hanging arm to hang a little lower. With our 10' ceiling height, we went with the shorter hanging arm. Both options have mounting hooks/rings to hang the fan so that's pretty useful. Let me tell you! The remote is a godsend and the light isn't too bright in the evening, which is good to me because I don't want to illuminate the neighborhood. The LED light has an opaque cover so that dims the lighting. There are also different brightness options to switch through for lighting. The length of power cord is ample enough (16.5') to plug into a mounted outlet on our gazebo, or you could use an extension cord to plug elsewhere. The fan already has an option to sync two or more fans together to the remote, so we were able to use one remote and have the other for backup for whatever reason. The fan is sturdy, it doesn't wobble or feel cheap, in my opinion. The fan runs quietly and has six different speed options. Regardless if this is a paid review or not, I recommend this fan. When we brought it, I boasted to our friends and family, and they've purchased some of the different color options too. This really is a great fan for an outdoor setting.
