I actually really like this food cycler overall. It's easy to use, straightforward to set up, and it does exactly what it claims to do. Food scraps break down well, the cycle is simple to run. Impressive from a functionality standpoint. However, there is one major downside that's hard to ignore: the smell while it's running. Even with a brand-new unit and a fresh charcoal filter, the odor is very strong and unpleasant. It's noticeable throughout the house during operation, which makes it difficult to run unless you can isolate it in a garage or very well-ventilated area. If odor control were improved, this would easily be a 5-star product. As it stands, it works great — just be prepared for a pretty bad smell while it's doing its job.
