Die Publikation steht im Kontext eines grosseren Forschungsvorhabens, das eine konzentrierte wissenschaftliche Beschaftigung mit jenem Teil der griechischen Historiographie zum Ziel hat, deren thematischer Fokus auf die historischen Welten des Alten Vorderasien gerichtet ist.
