Not durable. Powder coat cracks

The powder coating began cracking around the connector after a few short years, even when handled gently. The design of the hook means that torque from the motor will eventually strain and crack the coating. Kitchenaid does not seem to make a stainless steel version of this part which is extremely disappointing.

chipping after 1.5 years...

my family gifted me the mixer that comes with this hook about 1.5 years ago. happily making bread every two weeks or so. In a recent batch of bread I spat out a film which i found a bit weird as i couldnt recognise where it was from, only to later realise its from the chipped hook. Have only hand-washed with a soft sponge since started using it and its not even that long. Came in here and realised im not the only one. Quite disappointed.

Hi there, I’m really sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your beaters. This isn't the experience we want for you at all. When the beater height is out of alignment, it can sit too low and scrape the bowl, which may cause chipping. I’ve included instructions below on how to adjust the beater‑to‑bowl clearance, along with details on checking the hinge pin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsuF48to42s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dpMCjFAiBI Please reach out to our Customer Service team as well, we’d love to help get this sorted for you. ❤️

Dough Hook Dramas

My last review was rejected by Kitchenaid because it "did not meet guidelines". Here is my new review. I am very concerned that the dough hook coating is peeling off, resulting in white chips of plastic in my bread dough. This has happened twice now & I have had to buy replacement parts. I think this accessory needs to be recalled & replaced with a non degrading hook.
