Heating pad is hard...not soft at all but it puts out really nice heat. I have older cat that doesnt want to come inside so I make sure she is toasty at night during the winter. She doesn't mind at all that it is not soft. She even likes breakfast in bed now!

Our outside cat, who will not live inside but has our porch, two K&H heating pads, and a K&H winter house with a heated pad, is thriving in our upstate winters. I purchased the K&H Extreme Weather Heated Kitty Pad for an outside cat which was dropped off at my house this Spring. I did my research and so glad that I choose this brand. This Kitty Pad works extremely well and my cat doesn't want to come out of his house. The cover makes it extremely easy to remove and wash if needed. I am actually going to purchase a second pad for a friend.
